About Me and My Art

In recent years, I have discovered my passion for the art of metal welding.
In my studio and workshop in Carinthia – more precisely in Köttmannsdorf (Klagenfurt-Land) – I create custom art pieces for gardens and interior spaces. I prefer working with scrap car parts, bicycle components, old tools, and other discarded metal.

Through my hands, once-functional objects are transformed into unique artworks. My aim is to breathe life and expression into these creations, allowing them to tell their own stories. That is my true drive – to give new life to things that seem worthless and to transport emotion through each piece I make.

At the moment, I particularly enjoy designing what I call "Gortn-Viecha" – garden creatures in various sizes. These often feature a natural rust finish, though some are painted or partially painted.
I also have a special affinity for working with horseshoes. This versatile material is ideal for crafting larger animals or figures that harmonize beautifully with garden landscapes in Carinthia and beyond.

Another highlight of my work is animal heads – especially deer – which I form using nuts, bolts, and other small metal elements. Combined with real antlers, these pieces merge into one cohesive and striking whole. The same applies to bull heads, other animal motifs, or imaginative fantasy figures.

"Fire is the soul of metal."
This phrase perfectly captures my fascination with welding. The heat, the sparks, the merging of materials – it's a creative process where raw elements become distinctive works of art.
Fire symbolizes transformation and renewal, just like my sculptures made from recycled metal. Upcycling is all about giving old materials new value.

In the words of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry:
"It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."
My artworks contain more than just metal – they carry passion, heart, and the hidden stories of the materials used.

Each of my creations is a handmade original. I work with modern tools such as a MIG welder, angle grinder, and plasma cutter to bring them to life.
